Anna van der Breggen (Boels Dolmans Cyclingteam) and Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) are the UCI World Individual Rankings winners. The Dutch woman and the Slovenian man were protagonists throughout the year, both in one-day and stage races.
Van der Breggen won the Dutch national road championships and the individual time trial (ITT) European Continental Championships in August, the Giro d'Italia Internazionale Femminile and both the ITT and road race at the UCI Road World Championships followed by La Flèche Wallonne Féminine in September. Roglič started with the Slovenian road national championships in June and finished with his second successive Vuelta a España victory in November to confirm the leadership of the Individual Ranking for the second consecutive year.

Thanks to her incredible season, Anna van der Breggen leads the Women’s Individual UCI World Ranking with 2560.67 points. The Italian Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo) is in a close second with 2532.33 points, thanks to winning both the ITT and Italy’s road national championships and taking third place overall with two individual stage wins in the Giro Rosa. The former UCI World Champion Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) from the Netherlands is third with 2226 points thanks to victories in the European Championships road race, Strade Bianche and one stage in the Giro Rosa, amongst others.
Briton Lizzie Deignan (Trek-Segafredo) who won the 2020 UCI Women’s WorldTour, is fifth with 1896.33 points.

The Netherlands once again won the Nation UCI World Ranking with a big advantage over second-placed Italy: 8315.5 vs 4588.33, while Germany finishes third with 3806.66.

All three men’s rankings saw changes to the top placing after the Vuelta Ciclista a España. Primož Roglič finally topped the Individual Ranking with 4237 points: his biggest hauls came from his first place overall and four stages in the Vuelta, second plus one stage in the Tour de France, and his prestigious victory in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He demonstrated solid racing throughout the year, including one stage win and a second place overall in the Critérium du Dauphiné.
Second position in the Men’s individual UCI World Ranking went to the other Slovenian, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) with 3055 points. The winner of the 2020 Tour de France, with three stage victories, was the leader of the ranking until the last update but he didn’t take part in the Vuelta Ciclista a España and slipped down a place.
Third place in the Individual ranking went to Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) with 2700 points. The Belgian won Strade Bianche and Milan-Sanremo, finished second in both the Tour des Flandres and UCI Road World Championships road race, and was also able to win two stages of the Tour de France and one in the Critérium du Dauphiné.

In the Men’s Team UCI World Ranking, Jumbo-Visma jumped to the top with 9919 points, overtaking Deceuninck – Quick-Step with 9776.16, preventing them from being the UCI WorldTour Best Team for the third year in a row, and UAE Team Emirates in third with 8503.

Van Aert is the winner of the One Day Race UCI World Ranking which considers the performances in all the one-day events including races in the UCI WorldTour, UCI ProSeries, Class 1, Class 2, Continental and National Championships and, of course, the UCI Road World Championships. The Belgian won with 2265 points ahead of Dutch road race national champion Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) with 1520 points thanks to important victories in the Tour des Flandres and the BinckBank Tour (although as a stage race not counting towards this ranking). Third place, with 1502 points goes to UCI World Champion Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck - Quick-Step), from France.
