The UCI World Cycling Centre
A training centre
The UCI World Cycling Centre (WCC), which houses the headquarters of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), is an elite coaching and training centre.
Opened in 2002, every year it welcomes a large number of athletes from around the world, each of them devoting all their energies to their sporting careers. The WCC offers training and development for around 100 athletes every year in the three Olympic disciplines (road, track and BMX).
A multi-sport training centre
The WCC’s sports and non-sporting facilities offer everything you need to make your training programmes a success. The Centre regularly plays host to programmes organised by national federations, and its multi-sports facilities welcome elite sportsmen and women in a wide variety of disciplines, with Swiss Athletics’ track and field performers and the gymnasts of the Swiss Gymnastics Federation (FSG) training there virtually every day. Swiss Athletics has also set up one of its three national performance centres at the WCC, while the FSG has chosen it as the location for its national and regional trampoline centre.
Facilities for hosting your events
With its well-lit conference rooms, multi-purpose infield area of 1,800m2 and its restaurant, the WCC has the resources to host your event. Conveniently located close to the motorway, the WCC is the ideal location for your seminar, convention, team building activities and corporate outings.
Facilities open to the public
Although firmly oriented towards elite training, the WCC also makes its facilities available to local sportsmen and women and the general public. Thanks to our introductory sessions, which are open to everyone, you can experience the same sensations as the champions at our velodrome and on our BMX track.
And if you do not want to work up a sweat, then you can spend your time watching the athletes train or visiting the permanent exhibition of photographs on display around the indoor cycling track.
