Affiliated to the International Cycling Union (UCI) since September 2011, Mozambique’s Cycling Federation has numerous projects to develop cycling’s different disciplines. On Monday, its President Danilo Correìa talked about these in meetings with UCI President Pat McQuaid and the Manager of Continental Confederation and National Federation Relations Dominique Raymond.
Danilo Correìa, who recently became a member of his country’s National Olympic Committee and of the African Cycling Confederation’s Management Committee, talked about his plans to develop not only road cycling but also track cycling, BMX and mountain bike both in Mozambique and on the African continent. His enthusiasm and energy will be a precious asset in his quest to make these projects a reality.
The President of the Mozambique Federation took advantage of his visit to ask advice from UCI Track Coordinator Gilles Peruzzi about the future construction of Mozambique’s first velodrome. Mr Correìa also exchanged a few words with World Cycling Centre Director Frédéric Magné.
