New regulatory provisions were introduced last year establishing the obligation for all members of the press wishing to drive a vehicle in the race convoy to hold a âlicence for a vehicle driver in a road event.â In addition, this new regulation requires: âall holders of a âlicence for a vehicle driver in a road eventâ [para 1.8 of art. 1.1.010] to also be in possession of a âdriver's certificate delivered by the UCIâ if wishing to drive a vehicle in the race convoy during a UCI WorldTour event.â Holders of a licence for all other functions [art. 1.1.010] are exempt from this obligation. The UCI will be taking a very strict stance on this rule this year, and all members of the press wishing to drive a vehicle in the race convoy during a UCI WorldTour race will be obliged to have a green sticker.
