Cycling once again rises to the forefront with the nomination of three London 2012 gold medallists for the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.
Para-cyclist Sarah Storey (four Paralympic gold medals in London on the track and road), Sir Chris Hoy (double Olympic track gold medallist in London) and Bradley Wiggins (2012 Tour de France winner and 2012 Olympic Champion in the time trial) are among the 12 nominees for the British award. Mark Cavendish won the award last year, whilst Hoy will be looking to repeat his success of 2008. The public will vote for the winner on December 16th.
